Authorities seized over ₱217 million worth of illegal drugs during a major buy-bust operation in Bacoor City, Cavite. A Chinese national, identified only as alias “Li,” 35, and a resident of Mandaluyong City, was arrested during the sting.
PDEA Director General, Undersecretary Isagani R. Nerez, confirmed that operatives recovered methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) and ecstasy tablets amounting to ₱217,642,000.00.
The joint operation was conducted at around 6:14 a.m. on March 21, 2025, by combined forces from the PDEA Special Enforcement Service (SES), PDEA Regional Office IV-A Cavite Provincial Office, the Philippine National Police Maritime Police Station, and the Bacoor City Police Station.
The suspect was apprehended after selling one kilogram of suspected shabu, valued at ₱6.8 million, to an undercover agent in the parking lot of a well-known fast-food chain along Bacoor Boulevard.
A subsequent search led to the recovery of 31 more plastic bags containing suspected shabu weighing around 31 kilograms, with an estimated street value of ₱210.8 million. Authorities also seized four sachets containing 35 red-colored ecstasy tablets worth ₱42,000, a Honda City sedan, and other personal items.
In total, operatives confiscated approximately 32 kilograms of shabu with an estimated value of ₱217.6 million.
Alias “Li” is now facing charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“Our target has been under surveillance for some time under COPLAN: ‘Mafioso.’ He is known for distributing large volumes of illegal drugs and is now behind bars,” said Undersecretary Nerez.
