The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecasted extreme heat across the country, with Iba, Zambales, and San Jose, Occidental Mindoro expected to record a dangerous 42°C heat index on Friday, March 7.
PAGASA warns that these areas may experience conditions leading to heat cramps and heat exhaustion, with a risk of heat stroke under prolonged exposure to high temperatures.
61 Areas Under ‘Extreme Caution’ Category
Aside from the two areas reaching the danger level, 61 locations nationwide are predicted to register heat indices between 33°C and 41°C, placing them under the “extreme caution” category. This means residents may experience heat-related discomfort and illnesses, requiring precautionary measures.

- National Capital Region: Quezon City (40°C), Pasay City (41°C)
- Central Luzon: Clark Airport, Pampanga (40°C), San Ildefonso, Bulacan (41°C)
- Calabarzon: Sangley Point, Cavite (41°C), Ambulong, Batangas (41°C)
- Bicol Region: Legazpi City, Albay (40°C), Virac, Catanduanes (40°C)
- Visayas: Iloilo City (41°C), Dumaguete, Negros Oriental (38°C)

With rising temperatures, the Department of Health (DOH) has reminded the public to take precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses. Key safety measures include:
