A fire engulfed and destroyed three houses in Barangay Layac, Dinalupihan, Bataan, on February 22, 2025, at approximately 7:00 PM. The affected homes belonged to Elynor Esconde, Rogelio Martin, and Reynaldo Martin. Authorities received the report at 8:15 PM.
According to witness Catherine Jollie Martin, 17, the fire originated at the back of Rogelio Martin’s house, where a pile of burning plastic garbage was already ablaze. She immediately called for help, but the flames rapidly spread to neighboring residences.
Firefighters from Dinalupihan and Hermosa, along with personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), responded to the scene. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) declared the fire out by 8:20 PM.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
