A 24-year-old man was killed on the spot after being shot along C-4 in Malabon City.
The victim had just bought coffee from a store when the shooting occurred.
According to barangay officials, they were patrolling the C-4 area when they heard two consecutive gunshots. Initially, they ignored the sounds, thinking they were just firecrackers being set off by children.
However, minutes later, a concerned citizen approached them and reported that a man was lying lifeless on the road.
The victim’s father recounted that he had seen his son the previous night during the youngest sibling’s birthday celebration. He was shocked to learn about his son’s tragic fate.
It was also revealed that the victim had been released from jail less than a week ago after serving a six-month sentence for illegal drugs.
The victim’s partner stated that an unidentified man called her yesterday, asking for her partner’s whereabouts.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation to identify the gunman and determine the motive behind the shooting.
