PHL inflation rose to 4 percent in March

INFLATION in the Philippines rose to 4 percent in March compared to the 3 percent recorded in February.

However, inflation rate in March 2022 was slightly lower than the 4.1 percent recorded in the same period last year.

In a report by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the rise in inflation rate was due to the increases in water, electricity, gas and other fuel for cooking and transportation, aside from price increases in food and non-alcoholic beverages.

The PSA also noted an increase in the prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco, home furnishings and household equipment.
