AROUND 805 COVID-19 patients were reported to be severe and critical, or about 12.3 percent of total COVID-19 admissions in hospitals, the government said.
According to the National COVID-19 Case Bulletin released by the Department of Health (DOH) today, March 21, 2022, out of the total 3,473 ICU beds allotted for COVID-19 patients, 619 or 17.8 percent are currently occupied.
Meanwhile, 16.6 percent or 4,532 out of the 27,376 non-ICU COVID-19 beds are being used.
From March 14 up to March 20, the DOH said a total of 3,572 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the country.
Also, the number of daily average cases for this week has reached 510, which is 13-percent lower compared to the number of cases registered from March 7 to March 13, 2022.
In terms of the number of new cases recorded, one or 0.03 percent of the new cases are currently severe or critical cases.
Also, 655 COVID-19 fatalities were recorded for the past week.
The DOH also reported that 65.17 million individuals or 72.41 percent of the target population are already vaccinated against COVID-19, while 11.53 million have already received their booster shots.
