THE Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) announced that it approved the recommendation of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to conduct face-to-face classes.
The holding of face-to-face classes will be at 100-percent capacity in universities or higher education institutions (HEIs) located in areas that are already under Alert Level 1.
According to Acting Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Kris Ablan, the approval of the recommendation for face-to-face classes was stated in Resolution 164 that the IATF released today.
However, Ablan said that teachers, students, and even non-teaching personnel that will be present in the university or school must be fully vaccinated.
Students in Alert Level 1 areas who are not yet vaccinated or have only received a single dose will remain under flexible learning modalities.
As for student dormitories located in HEIs, no restriction will be implemented in terms of operational capacity as long as the university secured a clearance from their local government unit.
Ablan also said the IATF already instructed HEIs under Alert Level 1 to follow the joint memorandum circular issued by CHED and the Department of Health (DOH) to create and undergo a self-assessment checklist before opening.
The IATF also allowed universities to choose the kind of learning modalities that they will use.
