OPERATIVES of the District Special Operations Unit of the Northern Police District (DSOU-NPD) arrested a soldier with an outstanding arrest warrant in Caloocan City the other night.
The soldier was identified by DSOU chief P/Lt. Col. Jay Dimaandal as Michael Fulgar, 42 years old, and a member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) assigned at the 2nd Infantry Division CAA Unit (DCAU) and a resident of 273 P. Zamora St., Barangay 19, Caloocan City.
During the investigation conducted by PSSgt. Paul Colasito, the DSOU received information from the NDIT RIU NCR that the accused was seen in the area so the DSOU immediately formed a team led by PCapt. Melito Pabon.
Together with the 4th MFC RMFB, NCRPO and NDIT RIU NCR, the DSOU operatives led by P/Lt. Col. Dimaandal that resulted in the arrest of Fulgar along P. Zamora Street at around 8:30 p.m.
The accused was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued on January 4, 2022 by Hon. Judge Teodoro Nablo Solis of Branch 25 Fourth Judicial Region RTC, Biñan, Laguna for violation of RA 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 with bail set at P27,000 for the accused’s temporary liberty.
Recovered from the accused was a cal. 9mm Glock pistol with magazine and 14 bullets and three spare magazines loaded with 14 bullets.
According to P/Capt. Pabon, the accused will face charges of violating the Comelec Gun Ban since he failed to present an exemption issued by the Commission on Elections on bringing of guns outside of domicile, and that the accused was wearing civilian clothes at the that the warrant of arrest was served.
