THE government said that there are now 39 countries around the world that accept and recognize the country’s vaccine certificate from vaxcert.ph.
These countries include Canada, the United States, Australia and other big nations around the world that are members of the World Health Organization (WHO).
During the Laging Handa public briefing, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Acting Secretary Emmanuel Rey Caintic said this the reason why the DICT upgraded vaxcert.ph, especially its safety and security features.
According to Caintic, the new and updated vaccine certificates already include information on when an individual was given a booster dose.
For now, Caintic said compliance of local government units (LGUs) in terms of submitting vaccination coverage data picked up slightly, which is already at 70-80 percent.
However, since vaccination is still ongoing, Caintic said there is a need to continue updating of data coming from LGUs.
He said the vaccination certificate can be used not only for international but also for domestic travels, where it is required at airports and piers instead of vaccination cards issued by LGUs.
For those interested to get a vaccine certificate, they just need to go to the website vaxcert.doh.gov.ph.
If not available, Filipinos can go to the vaxcert booths found in LGUs for further assistance in getting the certificate.
