ABOUT 570 PNP personnel from the Bataan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) have been deployed this election period in the province of Bataan.
This was reported by Bataan PNP Provincial Director, Police Col. Romell Velasco in a press conference held in his office at Camp Cirilo Tolentino this week.
“We have 677 organic PNP personnel, out of that… 57 will be deployed to different polling centers and other security concerns like for the Comelec, the Board of Election Inspectors escort, they will be deployed, while the remaining number of personnel will do the routinary police functions,” says PCol. Velasco.
PCol. Velasco added that they are also working together with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection and force multipliers in order to maintain the orderly implementation of activities for the upcoming national and local elections on May 9, 2022.
Aside from this, PCol. Velasco said Bataan police will continue to man entry and exit points together with other agencies for the implementation of guidelines mandated by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) during the COVID-19 pandemic.
