DEPARTMENT of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra confirmed that the Office of the Cybercrime (OCC) received an online tip about an alleged assassination attempt against presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
This information is still being verified as of this time, according to Secretary Guevarra.
According to Guevarra, he already instructed the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to investigate while the OCC requested the Tiktok Law Enforcement Outreach Trust and Safety to preserve the suspect’s account.
It can be recalled that a Tiktok post came out, saying “We are meeting everyday to plan for BBM’s assasination. Get ready.”
“The NBI will give priority attention to any validated information pertaining to a threat to the personal security of any presidential aspirant,” says Guevarra.
Among the presidential hopefuls for the 2022 elections, it was only Marcos who received such a threat.
