P2.8M worth of marijuana seized, two suspects arrested

Camp General Alejo S Santos, City of Malolos — An estimated P2.8 million worth of dried marijuana leaves were seized in Bulacan on Saturday.

Two suspects were also arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Panasahan, City of Malolos, Bulacan.

PCol. Rommel Ochave, Acting Provincial Director of the Philippine National Police in Bulacan, identified the arrested suspects as John Archie Sabado, 32 years old, a resident of Bongabon, Nueva Ecija; and a 17-year old minor from San Andres, Cainta, Rizal.

The buy-bust operation was conducted by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of Malolos City Police Station (CPS) under the command of PLt. Col. Christopher Leano, which resulted in the arrest of the suspects.

The suspects were caught in the act of selling a large brick of suspected dried marijuana leaves to a police poseur buyer.

Confiscated were a total of 20 bricks of suspected dried leaves of marijuana with a Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value of P2.8 million, cellphones, vehicle and buy-bust money.

A criminal complaint against the arrested suspects are now being readied while the minor suspect was turn-over to the Malolos City Social Welfare and Development Office for custody and proper disposition.
