THE National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported today that the death toll from Typhoon “Odette” has already reached 258 as of this morning.
The number of fatalities continues to rise as reports come in.
The casualties were recorded in the provinces of Palawan, Iloilo, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental, Bukidnon, Misamis Occidental and Oriental, Butuan City and Agusan Del Sur.
Aside from this, the NDRRMC reported 566 injured and 47 are reported missing.
However, the NDRRMC said only 11 people are confirmed dead.
It said they are still verifying whether the other deaths were typhoon-related.
