YEARS after his celebrated breakup with fellow celebrity and former love team and partner Nadine Lustre, netizens especially fans still threw out hot questions at actor James Reid.
In an exclusive interview with Boy Abunda that premiered Friday on his YouTube channel, the actor, who is also a music producer, came across a question from a fan asking how ready he is to see his ex-girlfriend with a new suitor.
Reid did not give his answer on point but expressed that he is in no position to decide in the event that he sees Lustre with another suitor.
“I don’t think anyone in that situation is excited to see their ex with someone else, but you know, that’s not my choice,” the music producer said.
When asked further by Abunda, Reid said that the best and happiness are the only things he would want Lustre to have as someone who once shared an intimate relationship with and remains to be a close friend.
“It can’t be my choice but if magically I had to decide whether or not she’d be with someone, of course I wish her the best, I want her to be happy,” Reid stated.
“I’m not her husband, neither am I her father, so she can do whatever makes her happiest,” he added.
The two artists, popularly known then as JaDine, decided to split last January 2020. This, however, did not turn as a license to wither their close bond and also break their connection as music lovers.
In fact, Nadine has still been working with Reid closely after she signed a contract under Careless, the indie music label of Reid.
