THE Department of Transportation (DOTr) said that they will strictly implement the 50 percent maximum passenger capacity in public transportation during Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR).

The restriction is being implemented to ensure the safety of passengers in public utility vehicles (PUVs) in light of the Delta variant’s high transmission rate.

The Inter-Agency Council for Traffic (IACT) Special Operations Unit is currently inspecting PUVs to ensure that the 7 Commandments or the minimum health protocols are being fulfilled.

Traffic enforcers conduct strict inspection of PUVs daily. Drivers and conductors who violate the safety protocols for transport vehicles will be issued a traffic violation ticket.
