A BIG percentage of COVID-19 fatalities were not vaccinated against the virus.

Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III said 95 percent of those who died due to COVID-19 were unvaccinated while 85 percent of the severe and critical cases were also unvaccinated.

Duque likewise pointed out that a big percentage of COVID-19 fatalities in the country were senior citizens.

The DOH chief stood pat on the fact that vaccination and compliance minimum health and safety protocols continue to be the most effective means of protection against the effects of COVID-19.

Thus, Duque again appealed to the public not to waste the opportunity of getting free COVID-19 vaccines to avoid suffering from severe or critical conditions, or even die because of the virus.
