The US continues to implement its vaccination plan to inoculate its citizens as almost 50 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have already been distributed in the country.
Of this amount, close to 30 million doses have been administered, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Among the vaccines used were Moderna mRNA-1273 from US-based pharmaceutical and biotechnology company Moderna, and Pfizer/BioNTech from Pfizer, another US-based pharma company.
The agency reported that more than 24 million people had already received one or more doses while 5.3 million received a second dose as of Saturday.
