SUBIC, Zambales – THE Zambales top cop, Police Col. Rogelio Ponce Penones Jr., might also be facing administrative charges on the rampant “recycling” of illegal drugs particularly “shabu” in the province.
This after the head of the PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) Police Major Michael John Villanueva filed an administrative and criminal complaints against 5 erring police men assigned from the Subic Municipal Police Station (MPS) who were directly involved in the “recycling” and widespread selling of shabu in some nearby towns.
Villanueva, however, did not mentioned the names of the so-called “ninja” cops, because of the circumstances.
The CIDG provincial chief said in the earlier media interviews that he had obtained such amount of concrete evidences to pinned down these policemen and confidently be put behind bars.
It was also learned earlier that it is not only the station’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) operatives who are involved in illegal drug trade but as well as the several DEU personnel of different municipal police stations in Zambales.
According to Villanueva, these cops have long been involved in selling, recycling, providing protection to some high value drug individuals in the province.
Among the evidences which Villanueva obtained were testimonies of several high value individuals (HVI) that they caught in several anti-drug stings.
“Ito yung mahirap, yung mga kasamahan natin mismo sa trabaho ay pasimuno sa ganitong ilegal na aktibidad,” Villanueva stressed.
Interestingly, Police General Debold Sinas, upon his assumption as the new chief of the PNP, has directly warned all men and women in the police force not to get involved in illegal activities particularly on gambling and illegal drugs.
“Huwag na huwag kayong masasangkot sa anumang ilegal na gawain lalo na sa sugal at sa illegal drugs at may kalalagyan kayo!,” Sinas quipped.
