The Department of Health (DOH) today recorded the lowest daily number of new COVID-19 cases so far with a 4,700 total.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 infections so far to 1,159,071.
Active cases, on the other hand, came with a 49,951 total, again another low.
There were also 6,986 recoveries today for a total of 1,089,613 who have recovered from the disease.
Also, 136 were recorded as deaths to bring to 19,507 the total number of COVID-19 fatalities so far.
Based on the latest report, all laboratories were operational last May 17, 2021 but there were seven laboratories that failed to submit data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS). Base on data for the past 14 days, the contributions of these seven laboratories were more or less 4.4 percent of all the samples tested and 6 percent of positive individuals.
There were also 17 duplicates that were removed from the total case count, with 10 of them listed as recoveries and one death.
Moreover, 88 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
