ONLY three national roads remain closed as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Quick Response Teams continue to conduct clearing operations of roads affected by the onslaught of Typhoon Odette.
This is as of 12 pm today, December 24, 2021.
DPWH Secretary Roger Mercado said that 44 roads were already cleared and reopened, but one road in Palawan and two roads in Cebu are still impassable to all types of vehicles due to a damaged bridge, fallen trees and electric posts, debris, and washout revetment.
Road closure was reported along Irawan- Tagburos Road, at Tagburos Bridge I, K0016+587, Puerto Princesa City due to damaged/collapsed bridge section and damaged bridge approach, fallen trees and utility post; Dalaguete-Mantalongon-Badian Road in Brgy. Ablayan and sections in Brgy. Manlapay, Dalaguete, Cebu due to soil collapse and damaged pavement; Santander Santander – Barili – Toledo Road, Sariling Bridge, K0163+898, Malabuyoc, Cebu and intermittent sections, Brgy. Madridejos, Alegria, Cebu due to damaged bridge, scouring and damaged seawall from strong waves, fallen trees and electric posts, and other debris.
Four roads are still hardly-passable, which include:
1) Balilihan Hanopol-Bayuan Road K0025+900 – K0026+100 in Bohol due to flooding;
2) Dinagat-Loreto Road K0014+0800 to K0014+0900, Mahayahay, San Jose, Dinagat Islands due to road slip;
3) NJR Bah-Bah-Talacogon Rd. in Brgy, Lucena, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur due to damaged detour road, damaged bailey bridge, flooding, and soil slope collapse; and
4) NRJ Bayugan-Calaitan-Tandag Road in Brgy. Berseba, Bayugan due to road cut and sinking/collapsed pavement.
