CENTRAL Luzon Police Director Brig. General Valeriano De Leon leads today the withdrawal of support of 387 members of Alyansang Magbubukid ng Gitnang Luzon (AMGL) from CPP-NPA-NDF who came from various barangays of Hermosa, Bataan.
The event took place at the Mandama Covered Court in Barangay Mandama hosted by Punong Barangay Jason Enriquez and was supported by various government agencies like the Philippine Army, LGU-Hermosa led by Mayor Jopet Inton, Bataan PPO led by Police Col. Joel Tampis, DILG, PESO, DAR, DSWD, DA, TESDA, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) and Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process.
Provincial Board Member and Chairman of SP Committee on Peace and Order Popoy Del Rosario represented Bataan Governor Abet Garcia (PTF-ELCAC Bataan Chairman) and led the signing of pledge and disaffiliation of AMGL members from communists’ groups.
The official flags being used by CPP-NPA-NDF were also burned during the said occasion.
De Leon cited the importance of their surrender and turning their backs on what he said “wrong ideology” and later taking advantage of the national government’s programs for rebel returnees.
