3 people, including a 3 year old girl, perished in Caloocan fire

THREE people, including a three-year-old girl, died when they were being trapped inside their burning house in Caloocan City, early Monday morning.

The victims were identified as Beatris Oralio Alegria, 64, Vicente Junior Oralio Alegria, 65, and Althea Oralio, 3, all of Kamagong St. Pangarap Village, Barangay 182.

Initial investigation by the Caloocan Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), around 2 a.m., fire broke out at the victims’ house where they were asleep. The victims tried to escaped but were all trapped inside because of the thick black smoke emitting from the fire.

According to the two relatives, they left the house to buy food and snack at a convenience store but when returned, they were shocked seeing their house was engulfed by fire.

The fire declared under control at around 2.34 a.m. and was totally extinguished at 2:41 a.m.

No other houses were affected by the incident while the fire consumed an estimated P150,000.00 worth of property.

Arson investigators said that among the possible causes of the fire were lit candles that have been left or neglected as the house was said to have no supply of electricity and the victims used only candles to light their home.
