Three out of four still unidentified men suspected to be members of a high-profile gun-for-hire group were pronounced dead after engaging in a shootout with members of the Caloocan City police early yesterday morning.
Based on the report, the shootout happened at around 1:45 a.m. along Quirino Highway, Guadanoville Subdivision, Brgy. 183, Caloocan City.
In its initial investigation, the PNP Highway Patrol Group received a tip that a gun-for-hire group will pass by the area. The police immediately put up a checkpoint until they saw a suspicious-looking silver Mazda with plate number XEL-583.
When the police approached, the suspects quickly fled. The police gave chase until they managed to corner the suspects. Instead of surrendering, the suspects exchanged gunfire with the police that resulted in the death of three people in the group. A fourth member managed to escape.
The policesaid that the group operates in Region 3 and then went to Quezon City. The police said they are still trying to determine the suspects’ motives.
A police manhunt is still ongoing for the suspect who escaped and the police are still trying to determine the identity of the three dead suspects.
