24-Year-Old Woman arrested in Quezon City with P6-Million worth of Shabu

THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD), led by Acting Director PCol Melecio M. Buslig, arrested a 24-year-old woman in possession of nearly a kilogram of shabu valued at P6.12 million during a buy-bust operation early yesterday.

According to a report from Batasan Police Station (PS 6) commander Lt. Col. Romil Avenido, the suspect was identified as Nurjiya Akuk Muharram, a native of Jolo, Sulu, currently residing at 43 Airforce Road, Brgy. Holy Spirit, Quezon City.

Muharram was apprehended around 5:30 a.m. at her residence following extensive profiling and surveillance by PS 6 Drug Enforcement operatives. The operation was launched after authorities received an A1 tip regarding her alleged involvement in illegal drug distribution.

Lt. Avenido revealed that Muharram’s distribution network included Barangays Batasan, Commonwealth, Silangan, and Fairview.

During the operation, an undercover operative posed as a buyer and successfully negotiated a deal with the suspect, leading to her arrest. Law enforcement officers confiscated approximately 900 grams of shabu, with an estimated street value of P6,120,000.

Further investigations revealed that Muharram employed multiple distributors across the aforementioned areas and personally handled transactions involving large quantities of illegal drugs.

Muharram now faces charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“This operation reflects our commitment to dismantling drug networks in Quezon City and ensuring the safety of our communities,” Buslig said in a statement.
