2,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines arrive in the country

AROUND 2,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines arrived today at the NAIA Terminal One in Pasay City.

The vaccines, which were donated by the Government of Brunei Darussalam to the Philippines, arrived today at 2:08 pm aboard Royal Brunei Airlines Flight BI-683.

The new vaccines were welcomed at the NAIA Terminal One by the National Task Force Against COVID-19 (NTF) special adviser Dr. Teodoro Herbosa, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Assistant Secretary Christopher Montero, Brunei Ambassador to the Philippines, His Excellency Ambassador Hajah Johariah Binti Haji Abdul Wahab, and representatives from the Department of Health.

According to Dr. Herbosa, the total number of vaccines that have reached the Philippines is already at 92.5 million COVID-19 vaccine doses, 52 million of which were already sent to Filipinos in other parts of the country.

The 2,000 AstraZeneca doses were already sent to the Pharmaserv storage facility in Marikina City.
