Two men posing as agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) were arrested by the real CIDG operatives in an operation conducted in Subic, Zambales.
CIDG Provincial Officer Police Major Michael John Villanueva, identified the suspects as Chris Miranda and Jemmere Lanada alyas ‘Christopher Flores’.
Villanueva said that Miranda was first apprehended in Barangay Mangan Vaca, Subic, Zambales on October 20, Tuesday while Lanada was intercepted on Wednesday, October 21 along Sitio Tahimik, Barangay Calapacuan.
Both suspects have an existing warrant of arrest for the crime of Robbery issued by Hon. Judge Melani Fay Tadili of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 97 in Olongapo City.
Prior to their arrests, it was recalled that on August 6, the two were also arrested by Olongapo CIDG operatives whom were positively identified by witnesses as the perpetrator in the robbery incidents transpired in Subic area.
They were also introducing themselves as CIDG Agents.
Authorities yielded from the suspects 1 revolver pistol with ammunition, one pointed weapon and white polo shirt with a printed words ‘CIDG’ at the back.
During investigation the two were also identified by some of their victims that prompted them to file a criminal case which resulted to the issuance of their warrants.
Besides the pending case, the two were also be charge for violation of RA 10591 for illegal possession of firearm, ammunitions and deadly weapon.
