The Department of Health (DOH) recorded today a total of 6,100 new COVID-19 infections for a total of 1,165,155 new cases.
Active cases, on the other hand, posted a 51,192 tally, or 4.5 percent of the overall case load, according to DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin #432.
An additional 4,071 were also added to the list of recoveries to bring to 1,093,602 the total number of individuals who have recovered from the disease.
Also, 135 individuals died today to bring the total number of COVID-19 fatalities to 19,641 or about 1.69 percent of the total COVID-19 cases in the country.
Based on latest results, all the laboratories were operational last May 18, 2021 but three laboratories failed to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS). Based on data from the past 14 days, the contribution of these three laboratories were more or less 0.8 percent of all samples tested, and 2.1 percent of all individuals who tested positive.
There were also 16 duplicates that were removed from the total case count, where 11 are recoveries and one is a death.
Also, 71 cases previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
