Based on the Department of Health (DOH) case bulletin on COVID-19 issued today, 6,784 new COVID-19 cases were added to the total tally.
This means a total of 1,131,467 individuals around the country have already been infected by the dreaded disease, while the number of active cases slightly went up to 58,986 from yesterday’s 55,260 count.
Recoveries today went down to 2,972 compared to the 4,289 who recovered yesterday.
In terms of death,137 individuals died today compared to yesterday’s 107 fatalities.
Around 41 duplicates were removed from the total case count, of which 21 were posted as recoveries, and 71 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
All laboratories were operational on May 12, 2021 while 5 of them failed to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
The DOH continues to remind the public to register with their respective LGUs for them to be able to get protection from the vaccines designed to combat against any variant of the dangerous COVID-19
This, as the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases reverts the “NCR Plus” bubble–Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite and Laguna–back to General Community Quarantine (GCQ) but with heightened restrictions.
