CAMP OLIVAS, CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA – Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) officers collared 14 Chinese nationals in Angeles City as part of its intensified operations against illegal gambling activities in Central Luzon on Sunday.
PRO3 police regional director PBGen. Valeriano De Leon said that at about 2:30 on Sunday morning, joint operating units of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Regional Field Unit, CIDG Provincial Field Unit-Pampanga, Police Stations 2 and 5 of Angeles City Police Office, conducted an anti-illegal gambling operation at the 2nd Floor of 7-11 along Friendship Highway, Brgy. Pampanga, Angeles City, Pampanga.
The operation resulted in the arrest of the 14 Chinese nationals. They were identified as Harry Zhang; Frank Wang; Harry Wung; David Wang; Abu Deng; Abu Yang Jin; James Zhang; Zhou Bin; Yang Bing; Zho Ya; Lan Mi; Lao Hai Ping; Jacky Lau; and Henry Yuan.
Confiscated from the suspects were one Poker table; money counting machine; seven decks of playing cards for Poker; two cases containing assorted coin chips with marker chips for poker; and 15 pieces of P1,000 bills betting money.
PCol. Rommel Batangan, city director of Angeles City Police said the service firearms of the private bodyguards were temporarily seized by the authorities for verification while appropriate charges for violation of PD1602 as amended by RA 9287 is being prepared against the suspects.
