IN full support for all senior citizens living in Valenzuela City, its local government unit has rendered cash incentives to 12-centenarians.
The centenarians who are residents of the city have just received P50,000 cash each.
Mayor Rex Gatchalian personally handed over the cash to each centenarian in conjuncture with the celebration of Elderly Filipino Week.
The local government has been providing cash incentives to Valenzuelano centenarians since the passing of Ordinance No. 300, Series of 2016, or the Centenarian Ordinance of Valenzuela City.
It was amended by Ordinance No. 652, Series of 2020, which increases the cash incensement from PhP20,000 to PhP 50,000 for each centenarian due to continued economic inflation and for other economic considerations.
Of the 12 centenarians, seven are exactly 100 years old, the other three are 101 years old while the two are both 102 years old, all from different barangays in the City.
The city government fully supports the senior citizens by ensuring that all the benefits for them are surely provided for their well-being, being part of the society.
