THE National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) affirmed on Friday several wage orders granting wage increases in three different regions in the country.
The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) for Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) issued Wage Order No. 02-DW-04 that effectively grants a P1,000 monthly wage increase for domestic workers in the region.
This brings domestic workers’ monthly minimum wage rate to P5,000 from P4,000 under the previous wage order.
Meanwhile, RTWPB Region 4-B (MIMAROPA – Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) issued Wage Order No. RB-MIMAROPA-10 that grants a P35-wage increase to bring the new minimum wage rate to P329 for establishments with less than 10 workers and P355 for those that employ 10 or more workers.
The RTWPB Region 4-B also issued Wage Order No. RB-MIMAROPA-DW-03 that grants a monthly increase of P1,000. This means the new monthly wage rate for domestic workers in the region is now at P4,500.
Finally, RTWPB 12 (SOCCSKSARGEN – South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos) issued Wage Order No. RBXII-22 granting a P32-wage increase for workers in private establishments.
The increase will be given in tranches, P16 once the Wage Order takes effect, and another P16 on September 1, 2022. This brings the new minimum wage rate in Region XII to P368 for the non-agriculture sector and P347 for agriculture/service/retail establishments.
The wage orders will take effect 15 days after publication in a newspaper of regional circulation.
The NWPC, which is chaired by Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, earlier affirmed the wage orders to increase minimum wage rates in the National Capital Region and Western Visayas. The new minimum wage in NCR will take effect on June 4, while that in Western Visayas will take effect on June 5.
