US pays homage to 9/11 dead on its 20th anniversary

NEW YORK, United States— America commemorates the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attack on Saturday given with solemn ceremonies after its troops returned from Afghanistan. 

A heart-melting observance was unveiled where 19 Al-Qaeda hijackers, mostly from Saudi Arabia, destroyed airliners, disrupted the cultural, political, and financial hearts of the United States. 

In a video, U.S President. Joe Biden urged Americans to show unity as their greatest strength. 

To me, that’s the central lesson of September 11th. It’s that at our most vulnerable, in the push and pull of all that makes us human, in the battle for the soul of America, unity is our greatest strength.” President Biden’s message from the White House.

New York’s Ground Zero, the center of the attack, has now two pools of water where the Twin Towers where the twin towers were placed. Relatives read out the names of 3,000 people who were killed during the four-hour long ceremony. 

Six moments of silence were seen, which corresponded at how the two World Trade Centers were destroyed and fell.
