THE government is looking at three more regions in the country that can qualify to be placed under Alert Level 1 this March.
During the Laging Handa public briefing, National Vaccination Operations Center chairperson and Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said the three regions include Regions 1, 2 and 6.
Cabotaje said all provinces and cities in the entire Region 1 have already achieved their vaccination target of 70 percent of the eligible population.
The same thing goes for Region 2 although there are small hiccups in Nueva Vizcaya that recorded a low vaccination rate but many among its municipalities recorded high vaccination levels.
Even the A2 sector (senior citizens) of the two regions achieved high vaccination rates.
Region 6, on the other hand, is already okay with its 70-percent vaccination rate although it still fell short in vaccinating its senior citizens, which is still at only 73 percent.
However, this can still be increased, Cabotaje explained.
A big help to achieve this is the soon-to-be-launched Part 4 of the National Vaccination Days next week to help them meet the criteria and be placed under Alert Level 1 this month.
