Three Leyte cops nabbed for alleged robbery, extortion and sexual harassment

THE Philippine National Police-Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) arrested three active cops in Leyte due to multiple extortion, robbery and sexual harassment.

The three policemen were identified as PSMSgt. Alex Garciab Asis, PSSgt. Raffy Mendoza Retosar and PCpl. Jerwin Neopus Dacillo, all of whom were assigned at the Palo Municipal Police Station in Leyte.

Based on a report from IMEG, the three cops were caught in an entrapment operation after the IMEG received reports of extortion being conducted by the three police personnel.

A female, who was a former detainee, became a victim while in detention at the police station because she was being forced to wear “short” shorts, and that the three cops had already been extorting money from her.

A total of P6,000 in marked money were recovered from the three policemen, who were then disarmed.

The three erring cops have already been turned over to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group 8 and are facing both administrative and criminal charges.

PNP IMEG Director PBGen. Oliver Enmodias said they will continue with the internal cleansing in the PNP ranks, in compliance with the directive of PNP Chief P/Gen. Dionardo Carlos.
