The municipalities of Samal and Hermosa were visited by Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Deputy Director General for Partnerships and Linkages, Aniceto D. Bertiz on Tuesday, November 10, to boost more partnerships under the “Oplan TESDA Abot Lahat” program.
Samal Mayor Aida D. Macalinao said, “Malinaw na prayoridad nito ang ating mga maliliit na mamamayan upang maging katuwang sa pag-angat ng kanilang mga kabuhayan. Katulad ng ating magandang layunin, ang TESDA ay sumasalamin sa #AMbisyonNatin na sa gitna man ng pandemya ay magpatuloy ang pag-abot sa isang buhay na matatag, maayos at panatag.”
“Oplan TESDA Abot Lahat” aims to expand and strengthen its mandate and services to all to reach out and serve new partners and clients with a clear objective- to transform and improve lives for the better.
Meanwhile, in Hermosa town, Mayor Jopet Inton reported that his meeting with DDG Bertiz along with Municipal Administrator Rex Jorge, Ofelia Datu of PESO Hermosa and Palihan village councilor Jess Garcia focused more on TESDA’s partnership with Hermosa LGU.
“Layunin po nito na makapagbigay ng scholarships para sa mga gustong kumuha ng kurso na available sa TESDA,” Mayor Inton said.
The said TESDA program also aims to contribute to the country’s food, health and job security; and provide skills training and certification to Filipinos in order to get jobs and earn livelihood specially during this time of Covid-19 pandemic.
