THE Philippine National Police (PNP) has already identified a total of eight suspects in relation to the case of the missing “sabungeros.”
This was part of the report of Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año to President Rodrigo Duterte in his “Talk to the People” session last night.
Año said the police is already gathering evidence and once these are obtained, the police will immediately coordinate with the proper courts to request for the issuance of warrants of arrest against the suspects.
According to Año, the suspects should be immediately found and arrested for them to be able to shed light on the incident regarding the more than 30 missing “sabungeros” so that justice may be served and that those behind the incident be held responsible.
In his report to the president, Año stated that there were some similarities in circumstances related to the disappearance of the sabungeros.
Among these was that the sabungeros disappeared near the cockpit arenas, while most of the vehicles used by the missing victims were found abandoned near their residences. Also, it was learned that the cockpit arenas under investigation had the same administrator and operator, and that all these arenas being probed had no CCTV cameras installed.
Año added that all persons of interest for the separate incidents are either part of the security or management personnel of the cockpit arenas.
