Spicy curry challenge marks Coco Ichibanya’s 16th branch in PH

WHEN you’re craving Japanese curry and you’re in Laguna, all you need to do is head to Ayala Malls Solenad in Nuvali where Coco Ichibanya’s 16th branch is located.

To commemorate the branch’s formal opening last July 20, the branch held a “Spicy Curry Challenge” that, according to Coco Ichibanya Philippines’ Marketing Officer Angel Francisco, was previously held a few years back for curry fans who can handle the hottest curry mix Coco Ichibanya has to offer.

The winner of the Spicy Curry Challenge during the Nuvali branch opening was Nicolas Chua, who set another record for finishing the hottest pork cutlet curry in under one minute and 16 seconds (with water).

Pork Cutlet Curry and Chicken Cutlet Curry are still the best sellers because I think it’s the perfect crispy cutlet and savory curry combination that has captured the taste of many Filipinos,” Francisco said.

She also added that the Croquette Curry—a twist of the Japanese croquette with cream filling—is another favorite of loyal Filipino Coco Ichibanya customers, while the Fried Chicken Curry has become a hit among kids.

CoCo Ichibanya encourages Japanese curry lovers in the Philippines to customize their orders according to their preferences, from mild to spicy flavors, vegetarian to meat choices, and their preferred toppings and side dishes.

Mugen Group President and CEO Hubert Young expressed his heartfelt thanks to Filipinos for their continued support of the brand. “We are excited to bring the food and service that CoCo Ichibanya is known for all over Japan and the rest of the world.”
