House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez expressed grief in the passing of Palawan 3rd District Representative Edward Solon Hagedorn.
Hagedorn died Tuesday morning, October 3, 2023, at the age of 76. The announcement of his death was made through his official Facebook page.
In a statement, Romualdez remembered Hagedorn as a public servant who is passionate about the environment, tourism, agriculture, and peace.
“Every moment with Cong. Ed was filled with laughter, wisdom, and profound insights. His genuine warmth and ability to touch lives went beyond titles and protocols. To me, and many of us at the House of Representatives, he wasn’t just a colleague, he was family,” Romualdez said.
“To have known and worked with Cong. Ed has been an honor and a privilege. His spirit and legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire us all.
Hagedorn’s journey in the world of politics started when he was elected mayor of Puerto Princesa in 1992. Despite his losing the senatorial race in the 2013 election, Hagedorn next ran as 3rd district Representative of Palawan during the 2022 election and won.
