Severe and critical COVID-19 patients down further to 758, DOH reports

AROUND 758 COVID-19 patients were reported to be severe and critical, or around 11.9 percent of total COVID-19 admissions in hospitals, the government said.

According to the National COVID-19 Case Bulletin released by the Department of Health (DOH) today, March 28, 2022, out of the total 3,204 ICU beds allotted for COVID-19 patients, 484 or 15.1 percent are currently occupied as of March 27, 2022.

Meanwhile, 16.7 percent or 4,613 out of the 27,547 non-ICU COVID-19 beds are being used.

From March 21 up to March 27, the DOH said a total of 2,726 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the country.

Also, the number of daily average cases for this week has reached 389, which is 24-percent lower compared to the number of cases registered from March 14 to March 20, 2022.

In terms of the number of new cases recorded, 0.00 percent of the new cases are severe or critical cases.

Also, 752 COVID-19 fatalities were recorded for the past week.

The DOH also reported that 65.64 million individuals or 72.93 percent of the target population are already vaccinated against COVID-19, while 11.82 million have already received their booster shots.
