SEVEN soldiers were wounded after an ambush conducted by a Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) in Brgy. Magsaysay, Mapanas, Northern Samar at 6;15 this morning.
In a report from Police Regional Office 8 (PRO 8) BGen. Bernand Banac, a Philippine Army unit was conducting a routine patrol when they were ambushed by a still undetermined number of CTG members.
The CTG allegedly used Anti-Personnel Mines that left seven soldiers wounded, and it was not known if there were injuries in the CTG’s side.
For now Banac said PRO8 already alerted all police units near the ambush site.
He also ordered the conduct of blocking operations in areas that the rebels may use as their escape route.
