SEVEN Chinese nationals were collared for illegal gambling in Baclaran, Parañaque City.
Police Colonel Maximo Sebastian, chief of the Parañaque City Police, said a concerned citizen informed them of the illegal gambling activities being conducted by the group.
When the police went to the area, that was when they caught four Chinese national playing mahjong.
The three others were caught playing “tong its,” a popular card game.
Confiscated from the Chinese were playing cards, mahjong tiles and almost P100,000.
It was learned that the Chinese nationals were all employees of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators or POGOs.
The suspects are now under the custody of the Parañaque City Police and are facing charges of violating PD 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling.
