School partners with Globe on digital education

Ever since the education system in the country shifted to a “digital” or blended format because of the COVID-19 pandemic, schools have been faced with varying challenges and changes that they needed to hurdle and find solutions to be able to overcome them.

The struggle for schools as they transition to eLearning continues and the challenges that they face have been different and difficult.

However, Santiago Trillana Academy (STA) looked at the pandemic in a different way and in fact, it considered the situation as a welcome challenge. Faced with an alarming situation, the school decided to partner with Globe for their Brightspace Learning Management System (LMS), a vital element for digital education.

Through the partnership, the school secured Brightspace LMS licenses for its students and staff for the school year 2020 to 2021. The platform will serve as a tool for both learners and teachers in the creation and compilation of lessons, as well as resource materials. Additionally, the LMS tool integrates both synchronous and asynchronous learning through video assignments, virtual classrooms, video notes, and ePortfolio.

“Using various instructional modalities including the digital platform called Brightspace, we are journeying into the greater world of advanced education. Brightspace is being used in leading universities around the world including Harvard University where I graduated in 1995. The beginning, it is said, is uncertain, but the future is certain, and the future is beautiful,” says Dr. Pablo Trillana III, Chairman of STA.

Located in Hagonoy, Bulacan, STA is a private non-sectarian academic institution with the mission of educating the young and helping each individual progress in wholeness. The school offers quality education with an emphasis on the promotion of physical, moral, spiritual, and intellectual development of its students.

STA implements the complete basic education of the K-12 Program of the Department of Education, from Preschool to Senior High School under Academic Strand on ABM, GAS and STEM.
