THE Department of Transportation (DOTr) activated today its OPLAN Biyaheng Ayos 2023 that aims to ensure a smooth, and organized observance of the forthcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), as well as the commemoration of “Undas” or All Saints’ Day this year.
The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) formed a Task Group led by Transport Security Risk Management Service Director Eugenio Paguirigan to oversee the entire operation, and man the Transportation Operations Center 24/7 for efficient coordination with stakeholders and other security agencies in the government sector.
Auditors and inspectors will also be deployed by the OTS in airports, seaports, bus terminals, and rail stations to make sure that transport operators implement and maintain adequate security measures to protect the traveling public from any untoward incident and acts of unlawful interference which may be committed by lawless elements during this peak season.
The agency also ensures adequate manpower at the security screening checkpoint and cancelled vacation leaves of Airport Security Screening Officers to ensure the faster and effective processing of passengers in all airports nationwide.
