Rehabilitation plans begin for flood-damaged Bulacan

THE provincial government of Bulacan has begun the rehabilitation plan for the for province due to massive damages left by the southwest monsoon rains enhanced further by typhoon “Fabian.”

The local government unit (LGU) placed the estimated damage to the province at P89.814 million in agriculture, P65.25 million in infrastructure and P294,800 in livestock.

Each concerned department has already submitted rehabilitation plans on how the province will be able to recover from the losses and also provide assistance to affected Bulakenyos.

The provincial government has already distributed food packs to more than 20,000 Bulakenyo families affected by typhoon Fabian. First District Engineer Henry Alcantara said they have already completed the palliative measures as various road sections of major national highways, both concrete and asphalt, were moderate to severely damaged.

Engr. Erning Daos, chief of the Maintenance Division, said that patching of potholes with asphalt to temporarily cover damaged road sections has already been made to ensure the safety of motorists.

The provincial chief executive also said that though the province is continuously hit with different calamities, the Bulakenyos’ resiliency cannot be shaken.

Sabay-sabay ang dagok, but our ability to bounce back is also amazingly seen during these times.
