QUEZON CITY — The 2025 National and Local Elections in Quezon City concluded without any election-related violent incidents, according to Police Colonel Randy Glenn Silvio, District Deputy Director for Administration and Officer-in-Charge of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).
This successful and peaceful conduct of the polls was attributed to the strong collaboration among various agencies, including the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Joint Task Force–National Capital Region (JTF-NCR), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Coast Guard District NCR-Central Luzon (CGDNCR-CL), Department of Education (DepEd)-NCR, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and other deputized stakeholders.
To ensure security and order, more than 4,000 personnel from QCPD and partner agencies were deployed across 175 polling centers citywide. PCOL Silvio also praised the cooperation of local candidates and the residents—referred to as “QCitizens”—whose discipline and civic responsibility significantly contributed to the smooth electoral process.
Despite the overall peaceful atmosphere, the QCPD reported the apprehension of nine individuals for violating the liquor ban imposed on May 11, 2025. Additionally, from the start of the election period on January 12, 2025, authorities arrested 117 suspects for violating the election gun ban and confiscated a total of 122 firearms.
“I commend every member of the QCPD and our partner agencies for their vigilance and professionalism,” said PCOL Silvio. “Their dedication ensured a safe and orderly election. I also appreciate the cooperation of QCitizens and am grateful for their trust and help in making this event a success.”
