Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Deputy District Director for Administration and Officer-in-Charge, PCOL Randy Glenn Silvio, announced the arrest of 23 drug suspects and the confiscation of Php243,916.00 worth of suspected shabu during anti-illegal drug and anti-criminality operations conducted across Quezon City from 2:00 AM on May 17 to 2:00 AM on May 18, 2025.
Among those arrested were two individuals identified as alias “Erwin,” 49, and alias “Jerwin,” 22, apprehended by operatives of the Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station (PS 13) under PLTCOL Rolando Baula. The suspects were caught during a buy-bust operation at 3:45 PM on May 17 at their residence in Brgy. Bagong Silangan. Confiscated from them were 10 grams of suspected shabu valued at Php68,000.00, a cellphone, and the marked buy-bust money.
In a separate operation, the same station apprehended a 16-year-old and alias “Adonis,” 38, at around 12:45 AM on May 18 along Majaas St., Brgy. Payatas. Authorities seized from them four grams of suspected shabu worth Php27,200.00, a .38-caliber firearm with three live rounds, a cellphone, and Php710.00 in alleged gambling proceeds.
Meanwhile, Cubao Police Station (PS 7) led by PLTCOL Ramon Czar Solas conducted a buy-bust operation resulting in the arrest of five suspects—alias “Germain,” 39; “Sherly,” 46; “Mary Joy,” 39; “Rolando,” 48; and “John Rey,” 35—all residents of Brgy. San Roque, Cubao. The suspects were apprehended at around 12:45 AM on May 17 at No. 36B, 18th Avenue, Brgy. San Roque. Seized from them were three grams of shabu valued at Php20,400.00, a coin purse, three cellphones, and marked money.
In addition to these arrests, QCPD operatives apprehended 14 other drug suspects and confiscated Php128,316.00 worth of shabu in various operations throughout the city.
All suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). Moreover, alias “Adonis” and the 16-year-old will also be charged with violation of Presidential Decree 1602 (Illegal Gambling). The minor will further face charges under Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and Batas Pambansa Blg. 881 (Omnibus Election Code) in relation to COMELEC Resolution No. 11067.
PCOL Silvio commended the police officers involved for their commitment and successful execution of the operations. “I would like to acknowledge the dedication of our officers. These results prove that we are serious in eradicating illegal drugs in Quezon City,” he said.
