PNP ready to assist, secure holding of limited face-to-face classes

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) assured that it is ready to provide assistance once the limited face-to-face classes start its pilot run in both public and private schools nationwide.

This was the assurance given by PNP Chief, Police General Guillermo Eleazar as he emphasized that the PNP is currently in the thick of preparations for the start of face-to-face classes in select schools nationwide..

I have already directed the unit commanders concerned to coordinate with the respective local offices of Department of Education and the Commission on Higher Education to discuss how the PNP could help on this matter,” he added.

Education Secretary Leonor Briones said a total of 90 public schools have been given approval to push through with the pilot run of face-to-face classes, which is set to start on November 15.

She also said at least 20 private schools are being considered to begin the pilot run of face-to-face classes on November 22.

To be included in the pilot run, concerned local government units (LGUs) and the parents of students should agree to participate.

The PNP fully supports initiatives as we slowly go back to normal and the police is focused on ensuring the safety of everyone, not just against the threat of COVID-19 but also other threats to security of our teachers and students,” said PGen Eleazar.
