PNP chief hails confiscation of drugs worth over P16 million in QC

THE National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Friday confiscated a total of over P16 million worth of ecstasy in a joint anti-illegal drugs operation in Quezon City

Around 9,948 ecstasy tablets worth P16,911,600 were confiscated along BMA Street corner Batulao Street in Barangay Tatalon.

Suspect Elisha Mae was arrested in the said operation, conducted by elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 3 (PDEA RO III); the Clark Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group; Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Seaport Interdiction Unit (PDEA-SIU), Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA); PDEA-SIU Bataan; Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-National Capital Region (PDEA-NCR); the Quezon City Police District; and the Bureau of Customs, Port of Clark.

Ilas is facing charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Acts of 2002.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Police General Guillermo Eleazar lauded the confiscation through the combined efforts of the various law enforcement units.

The Chief PNP said the suspect could be part of a huge drug syndicate involved in supplying and distributing illegal drugs in Metro Manila.
