THE Philippines and many other regions are now under minimal risk classification for COVID-19, according to the Department of Health (DOH).
DOH Spokesperson and Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said they were able to log a negative 2-week growth rate that’s -57 percent and low-risk average daily attack rate (ADAR) of .67 per 100,000 individuals.
Vergeire also pointed out that the average daily cases in the country this week also went down to 397 cases daily or 42 percent from the 544 cases daily.
She said that the average cases per day is nine times lower compared to what was reported last July 2021 at 4,982 and still lower than the 1,130 cases per day recorded in December 27, 2020 up to January 2, 2021.
She said that based also in the epidemic curve noticed in big islands in the country and at NCR Plus, majority have already plateaued or have not seen any increase since November, while the rest of Luzon have also demonstrated signs of no movement in COVID-19 cases the past week.
