PBW 2026: Philippine Leaders to Open Blockchain Week with High-Level “Future of Trust” Forum

As the boundary between the physical and digital worlds continues to blur, experts and policymakers are identifying a new essential utility for the modern era: trust. With data, financial assets, and personal identities migrating deeper into digital ecosystems, the necessity for robust protection has never been higher. This theme will take center stage at the Future of Trust: A Leaders Forum on Technology and Governance, the premier opening event for Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW) 2026.

The invitation-only forum is set to convene an elite group of senior leaders representing the global technology sector, the Philippine business community, and key government agencies. The primary objective of the gathering is to address the multifaceted challenges of the digital age by establishing reliable systems across the sectors of finance, public governance, and digital services.

Organizers emphasize that every successful economy is fundamentally rooted in confidence. The shift toward blockchain technology provides the necessary infrastructure to make that confidence verifiable and scalable, effectively creating a system where trust is no longer assumed but technically guaranteed. To explore this transition, the forum has organized its agenda around three interconnected pillars that define the modern digital landscape.

The first pillar is technology, which serves as the physical backbone of the new system through innovations in blockchain, digital identity, and artificial intelligence governance. The second pillar focuses on governance, establishing the essential policies and legal frameworks that ensure digital systems remain legitimate and accountable to the public. The third pillar involves trust economies, demonstrating the real-world consequences for markets and capital ecosystems that depend on the ability to verify and sustain security over time.

These advancements are already being implemented within the Philippine government. Several high-profile agencies are currently embedding digital governance into their core operations, including the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the Department of Information and Communications Technology, and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Joining them are the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Department of Budget and Management, and the Department of Public Works and Highways.

A notable success story in this transition is the Integrity Chain, a blockchain-powered transparency initiative. After successfully completing its first phase with the DPWH, the project is now moving into its second stage. This progress demonstrates that utilizing blockchain as an anti-corruption tool has moved beyond theoretical discussion into practical reality. In addition, two local government units have officially gone live on blockchain platforms, proving the technology can serve local communities directly rather than just high-level corporate interests.

Scheduled for 19 June 2026 at the SMX Convention Center, the Future of Trust forum will serve as the official kickoff for the fourth edition of Philippine Blockchain Week, which runs through 21 June 2026. The week-long convention aims to make emerging technologies more accessible to the public by blending technical discussions with pop culture elements.

Supported by partners including CAT Investigators, KMC Solutions, NSpire, and the XDC Network, along with various media organizations, PBW 2026 remains the country’s leading platform for discussing how transparency and accountability will shape the Filipino digital future.
